Over four days, the students of the Master in Management (PGE) apprenticeship had the opportunity to learn about the principles, strategic aspects and operational tools of SKEMA's CSR approach, and to take part in it. Here they were supervised by Laurence Nahmias, professor and course leader, and Léna Felderhoff, a SKEMA graduate (2019) and trainer in ecological transformation.
During this exercise, the students worked on responsible food, soft mobility, digital technology and responsible campuses. "It was important that they should be able to apply what they had learned from their various courses. The idea of applying it in practical terms to their school, which is accelerating its commitment with the creation of SKEMA Transitions, seemed obvious to us," says Laurence Nahmias, the professor in charge of this course.
Going into the details of a real CSR policy
The apprentice consultants worked on mapping stakeholders, analysing the existing situation, identifying constraints, opportunities and levers, making recommendations and measuring impact. At the end of the process, a feedback exercise took the form of pitches made by the different teams. "Faced with ecological and social issues, we need to train all students on the major challenges of our century, strategies and courses of action, and above all inspire them to act."
"We want to involve students in our transformation"
The proposals put forward during these workshops should ultimately provide material for the school's "Transitions teams" (cross-disciplinary and collaborative networks committed to deploying transition projects in the school).
These will resume in the new academic year, in conjunction with SKEMA Transitions, SKEMA's global hub dedicated to socio-ecological transition and responsible management led by its executive director Yoann Guntzburger. "Students are very often asked to work on practical business cases in their courses, but rarely on issues specific to the institution. We want to involve our students more in our own transformation. This also involves the Impactful Player in SKEMA's strategy, and the CSR Project Manager course is a speaking illustration."
